Seventeenth-Century Modern John Fiske Sideboard designed by Philip Webb for Morris & Co. English, walnut, c. 1865. Webb’s work often revolved around inspiration taken from 17thcentury forms. This piece is no exception, here recalling a 17thcentury court cupboard with panel construction. This sideboard is in no way a copy. Instead, we have a romantic reinterpretation of the earlier form.
